project description:

This targetted commission for the Virtual Incarnations focus of Dance Umbrella festival at the ICA has a focus on development, support and investment to encourage choreographic collaboration with digital artists. It provides support towards the creation of a 60 minute dance piece choreographed by Tom Sapsford with visuals by the Honey Brothers.

The piece will take the idea of subconscious movement as its starting point, looking at sleep and hypnosis and aiming to give a glimpse of the mind and the movement that literally lies within us. The Virtual Incarnation Commission will showcase at the ICA Virtual Incarnation Exchange May 2003 and go on to tour in East England.
