VIRTUAL INCARNATIONS 2002 Explorations into the (r)evolutions of dance and digital technologies

Virtual Incarnations is a DANCE UMBRELLA / SHINKANSEN / ICA / FUTURE PHYSICAL (East England Arts / shinkansen / Essex Dance Agency) focus.  

For the third year running Virtual Incarnations offers the opportunity to see, experience and discuss developments in dance and the use of new technology.

TAP 2002
 

Palm-based wireless project, offering animated characters the chance to take tap dancing lessons from each other ?
an artwork that becomes a metaphor for networked communication itself.  

Tap is a work by James Buckhouse in collaboration with Holly Brubach, dancer Christopher Wheeldon and programmer Scott Snibbe.
Tap 2002 was commissioned by Dia Center for the Arts. Beaming Network presented in cooperation with Creative Time.
Technology provided by Palm, Inc. with additional support from hi beam. Stations designed by ORG.

LIVE CHAT ROOM collaboration/interauthorship

This year's discussion has a focus on collaborative / interauthorship processes evolving from choreographers
making dance performance alongside digital artists. The international panel includes: Merce Cunningham, Paul Kaiser, Shelley Eshkar,
Shobana Jeyasingh, Marie Claude   Poulin and Martin Kusch. The day will be moderated by Ghislaine Boddington
