NEEDS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • How far would 'you' go with your body?
  • Three rights you would like to retain around your body?

What follows are the answers from each of the participants:

  • Full brain and genetic augmentation (tested/safe)
  • Own DNA code that makes me unique
  • Determine genetic future of me
  • Prohibit use of information from DNA for discrimination

  • Determine where I was at medically and right now not anywhere
  • Privacy (surveillance)
  • Privacy (genetic fingerprint)

  • Contextual, time limited, affords pleasure and is consensual - three parameters
  • Subject of own research
  • Fear
  • Right to decide what substances consume
  • When I am harvested
  • Not to be tortured
  • Not to be asked to hurt another person
  • Social negotiation of rights, collectively negotiated consent and rights

  • Dependant of where I was / what on menu - collective causality for example, choice
  • Issue of rights - no diffusion - take all away - open source - sharing same commodity / no issue of exploitation
  • Non issue - collective experience aim
  • Borders

  • Not anything right now, all is contextual
  • Privacy
  • Health
  • Secrecy

 

  • Very relative. Different today than tomorrow, now healthy later maybe not
  • Informed consent
  • Do not want life sustained under adverse conditions
  • Rights over information

  • Short term things - far
  • Statistical things - less so
  • Long term - ? Linked to insensitive, not much for fun if out come important may do. E.g. kidney offering, augment my capabilities

  • Right for consent - informed, invasive
  • Rights over representation
  • Rights over genetic information specific to me
  • Rights over myself

  • Use of my body beyond death
  • No cosmetic surgery
  • Implants aiding memory and downloadable thought into text

  • Ownership of own DNA and worldwide
  • Knowledge / Use of body data - consent
  • Diversity and non- 'normal' - difference = Priority

  • Only as far as necessary - body not end in itself
  • Control of anonymity - options
  • DNA information being used - anonymous
  • Skin is important - like boundary / control as to what crosses threshold
  • Happy with senses as they are

  • Willing to donate body after death and consent as to how
  • Living donor under certain circumstances
  • Context dependant augmentation
  • Retain ownership over relevant elements of my DNA
  • DNR
  • Assisted euthanasia

  • No where I would not go without my body
  • Access to information without it
  • Things that affect my personality

  • Right to say yes
  • Right to say no
  • Right not to be cloned
  • Right to give agency to someone else

  • No distance at all
  • Appearance / disappearance - 'gone'

  • Intimacy - maintained
  • Silence / calm
  • Maintaining coherent

  • Test out brain much as possible
  • To know about myself / need to be creatively active - extension of learning

  • Right to remain a human being - breathe social ecosystem - right to remain and play
  • Choice / decide when I do not want to be exploited, when I have had enough
  • Use of physical body after my death
  • Totally dependant on the situation
  • Minefield rights - need more information
  • Right to die, to non participation, to silence / privacy

  • Donate body after death
  • Stay natural - removable enhancements (basic)
  • Never say never

  • Stay natural / brain augmentation
