Isabel
Rocamora and Camila Valenzuela
Isabel Rocamora, anti-gravity artist, explores
the interdependency between sensory visual traces and key energy
centres within the physical body as part of her research into
Memory Release - the development of a solo promenade piece using
motion capture, video projection and the hanging body. The research
looks into theories and findings of the mechanisms of memory and
its relationship to brain and body in Neuroscience, Neurophysiology
and Chinese Medicine. On a choreographic level it looks into body
presence and gesture in its changing states of consciousness.
The visual research is grounded in conscious memory and dream
recollection as well as theories of the psyche of place.
Isabel is
working with essexdance's live motion capture unit together with
programmer Chris Fayers in order to create an external nervous
system body computer - video. Isabel Rocamora is an anti-gravity
artist based in London. In 1993 she co-founded Momentary Fusion
Aerial Dance- Theatre. Rocamora also creates screen based work
(such as
Paramount Pictures (1997) and Arte TV 2002) and currently works
creating live installations and experimenting with video.
Memory
Release is a Future Physical Research Commission produced by Infinito,

of the mind and the movement that literally lies within us. The
project is a collaboration with digital artists the Honey Brothers.
Tom Sapsford has been making dances since 1996 after training
at the Royal Ballet School. His work has been presented by the
Royal Ballet, The Royal Opera House and Dance Umbrella. Hypnos
