web/virtual objects, many of which can be found in the
Gallery.
In
keeping with the Future Physical theme, they explore
ideas of the body in virtual space, and are designed
to provide fun, interactive experiences.

with state-of-the-art motion capture techniques to create
ghostly avatars that move and react to player's inputs.

genomix…genome baby maker is an interactive online
installation created by one of the UK’s leading
web artists. It allows members of the public to cross-reference
all the patterns on the genome sequence and intermix
or breed your their own variables, allowing the user
to look at the new mix of chromosomes in real time;

Prophet and Neil Theise
Cell
is a radical re-envisaging of the way in which stem
cells operate. It is a collaborative project between
Neil Theise - an international scientist whose ground-breaking
research into stem cells and cell behaviour is changing
the way that we understand the body -- and Jane Prophet,
one of the leading UK artists working with artificial-life
computer programming.

targeted commission takes the form of an unfolding love
story on the Future Physical web site. Love on the Internet,
echoing through servers and cables, packets of information
containing hopes and fears. Love and the idea of love
as a name, an electronic address, perceived identity,
the flesh of emotion.

targeted commission supports the development of scribble_Man
– as seen in the Future Physical website gallery,
into a fully responsive web being who performs various
everyday functions within the virtual space, such as
walk, think, consume or make a cup of tea. As an everyday
person, scribble_Man brings the everyday into the virtual
world.
